Memorial donation to the Golden Valley Humane Society for Miss Divinity

I’ve made a donation to the Golden Valley Humane Society in memory of Miss Divinity. The Golden Valley Humane Society is where Divinity attended Puppy Playtime, and where she was awarded her Canine Good Citizen & Therapy Dog certifications.

Puppy playtime

In her foster home, Divinity had two Cairn Terrier playmates. However, her life after her adoption was as an only dog. As such, I thought it might be helpful to take her to puppy-playtime so she was used to being around other dogs again before she began her formal Canine Good Citizen training.

Training

Divinity went through both Canine Good Citizen & Therapy Dog training. I believe that this training built, and then strengthen the bond between us that remained throughout Divinity’s life.

Canine Good Citizen training

In September, 2009, I signed Divinity up for Canine Good Citizen training. Divinity then completed the following training levels:

Therapy Dog evaluation

Divinity did not attend formal therapy dog classes. She was home-schooled by her dad who at the time was an assistant therapy dog trainer at Golden Valley Humane Society. However, Divinity did take her evaluation test at Golden Valley.

FYI: Patti who was the head therapy dog trainer at Golden Valley was also the home inspector for the Col. Potter Cairn Rescue from whom I adopted Divinity.

Please consider making a donation to a senior rescue or pet shelter in your area, and think of adopting one of these seniors, or younger dogs in need. You’ll never regret it.
