Elder Paws Senior Dog Foundation

From the Elder Paws Senior Dog Foundation website

Elder Paws Senior Dog Foundation is a 501c3 California non profit organization that strives to reduce the euthanasia rate of dogs age 7 and older in Central Valley kill shelters based on age and age-related health conditions. These dogs are considered less adoptable than their younger counterparts and are the first to be euthanized to make room for the more adoptable younger dogs.

At Elder Paws we believe all dogs have value regardless of age or health. Seniors deserve a 2nd chance at life and life and that’s what Elder Paws provides for them.

Seniors have a lot to offer, we just need to be willing to watch, listen, and learn… (Divinity’s Dad, 2012)

Note: Please share this post on your social media so that others can learn about these wonderful senior dogs. It’s the only way to spread the word about these seniors who need homes.

Here are some, but not all of the senior dogs currently available for adoption from Elder Paws Senior Dog Foundation.

Lulu

Lulu

Lulu is an 8-year old Peke/Chi mix weighing approx 14 lbs. She is calm, animal friendly, does well with children 7 and older, walks well on a leash, and would be a great companion animal. Lulu has a slightly low thyroid for which she takes daily medication, but is otherwise healthy. Lulu is a dream companion, who has a beautiful healthy coat (which will require regular grooming), and loves scratches behind the ear. Lulu is located in Fresno, CA.

Sadie

Sadie

Sadie is a sweet, affectionate, well behaved, serious lap dog and loyal companion. Sadie is a 9-year old Pommie/Doxie mix weighing about 15 lbs. She is affectionate, well behaved little girl and takes being a lap dog ultra seriously. Sadie has a cataract in one eye but sees fine out of the other eye. Sadie is in good health. She is a little shy at first but warms up to gentle affection. She loves the camera and, despite being a bit skittish, she was happy to give us a smile for her picture in return for some cuddle time. is located in Fresno, CA.
