This weeks Senior Sunday post focus’ on the Paws For Seniors in Bealeton, Virginia.

Paws for Seniors

Note: In memory of my beloved Maine Coon cat, Little Minx, this week’s Senior Sunday post will include senior cats!

From the Paws For Seniors website
The Problem:

For any number of reasons Senior Dogs and Cats are given up by, in many cases, the only family they have ever known. More often then not, they end up in animal shelters!

Our Mission

Focused on caring for and finding homes for senior dogs and cats, age (7) seven and older where they can live out their golden years with dignity and love through rescue, foster, adoption and hospice.

Paws for Seniors is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to caring for and finding homes for senior dogs and cats, aged seven years and older where they can live out their golden years with dignity and love through rescue, foster, adoption, and hospice.

Seniors have a lot to teach, we just need to be willing to watch, listen, and learn… (Divinity’s Dad, 2012)

Here are some, but not all of the senior dogs currently available for adoption from Paws For Seniors.

Whiskey

Whiskey

Whiskey (10) and his brother Rusty (11) were an owner surrender to a local shelter in northern Virginia. They had been with the owner for the last 9 years. They only stayed a few days in the shelter before coming to rescue. Both are declawed in the front, very friendly, and are great with younger children. They love to play with small toys and especially with balls. They are calm and they get along with everyone including the staff at the Vet Clinic. Whiskey and Rusty recently had a Wellness exam, full blood work, rabies and distemper vaccinations and they recently had a dental. Their FeLV/FIV test was negative.

Whiskey and Rusty are seeking a home were they can stay together and become two loving family members. They are ready, healthy, and “purrrfect”.

Scruffles

Scruffles

Oh my goodness! Just look at me. I am the most handsome boy in all the land. I am somewhere north of 6-years old and a terrier mix of some kind. Nobody really knows my history because I was found as a stray. Since I got picked up, the nice people have groomed me and got rid of all the pesky fleas and tics. I got all of my shots and they even neutered me. I like other dogs to play with and am looking for a family to have fun times with. I am considered special needs because I am pretty much deaf (but I’m pretty good at hand signals). We would recommend a fenced yard.
